Couch and Pillows

So tonight I made my first ever major furniture purchase... major as in the only things I have ever bought are two nightstands. So you can see how picking out couches has been a long process for me (probably even longer for Jason who had to put up with me). I got 3 pieces (that's right 3!!) The first one is just a normal sofa. The second is a part of a sectional without an end piece/arm. The third part is the chaise lounge that will slide right up to the sectional piece. The absolute best part was I got to pick every detail, cushion type, leg type, pillow types, arm types, and even the accent pillow fabric. So we get 4 pillows... 2 that are the chocolate brown microfiber/suedey fabric we picked out and 2 that are this fun funky swirly pattern... with a bird (who perfectly matches the chocolate). Something about it just caught my eye. And who knows maybe I'll use those 2 pillows in a different room!!

Spotted

Found this awesome green pillow at World Market. I love it so much I want to use it in a guest room, maybe base the room design off the pillow. Thoughts??

Mass Curtain Confusion

I need help... serious curtain deciding help. I finally hung up the longest curtain rod you could ever imagine (ok so Jason hung it up but I helped)... and now I can't decide on which curtain I like best. I really wanna do this bluishgreyish theme. But the one curtain is a lighter blue striped while the other is a true bluishgreyish (darker then what I originally thought). If I paint my room something similar to that color I posted a few weeks ago then I don't think either one will look good. But then again I am not painting for another 10-11 mths. Maybe you all just need to see these in person, but I'm posting some pictures to give you an idea.

Drooooling...

If:
1. I had plenty of money to splurge on shoes
2. I actually had more places to wear these and
3. I could walk without breaking an ankle or two

I would probably be a serious Christian Louboutain shoe fanatic.... and I would probably be broke...

This post was for Steph and Dana... who have been constantly reminding me that I have been slacking in posting

Etsy

I'm not sure how many of you have ever heard of the website called Etsy, but it's an awesome site containing anything and everything. I believe the majority of the items being sold are all handmade. One of the ways you can search for items is by color.... just click on the shade of color you want and it'll pop up little windows of items matching. The best part about this is... you can just swing the pictures wherever and keep on clicking colors till you have a million little pictures to browse through!

Doe

Browsing around the net tonight I found some interesting pieces from Doe in San Francisco.

Greens

I've been seeing a lot of green colored items that just seem so fresh and inviting so now I am considering doing one of the guest bedrooms using that inspiration. Below are some random green items I've found...

Garden Prints from Williams Sonoma Home

Pillow from the Cross Design

Chartreuse Roses from Organic Bouquet

Almond Branch Artwork (blues and greens!)

Frog Soap

These remind me of my little sister... Ames and her love of frogs... they'd look adorable in her bathroom!!

Simply stunning

Thoughts?

Thoughts on this paint color on the wall?? Is it blue? Is it grey? Is it the perfect blueish grey for my bedroom??

Curtains

I have never been a big fan of the thick heavy velvet drapes in houses because I can only picture them in deep rich colors in a mansion with gorgeous flooring and huge dramatic windows... but I digress.. found these on West Elm (I know I promise to stop mentioning it) and love the bright color and the little satin looking detail at the bottom that changes the whole feeling of them...

P.S.~ Also love the fun circle sheer behind it

Thoughts

I found this picture while perusing through the Bayou Contessa and realized this exactly the same sort of color pallet/feeling I would like for the master bedroom. I love the whole feeling. Mostly muted blues with white and chocolate brown accents. As I told Steph I'm trying to give it a little luxury by having silk drapes (which as soon as I get one of each of the 3 I love I will post the pic) and rich chocolate furniture but also having a soothing/comforty/peaceful feel with the linens and the accessories throughout. I hope this makes sense to all of you :)
